👉 형용사처럼 명사를 수식하는 절
즉, 명사를 설명하는 절이에요.

The man who is wearing glasses is my boss.
→ 안경 쓰고 있는 **남자(명사)**를 설명하죠.

✅ 2️⃣ 관계사 기본 공식

 

관계사	선행사	절 내 역할	예시
who	사람	주어	The employee who helped you is kind.
whom	사람	목적어	The person whom you met works here.
which	사물	주어/목적어	The document which was sent yesterday is important.
that	사람/사물	주어/목적어	The company that hired me is global.
whose	사람/사물	소유	The man whose car broke down is my neighbor.
where	장소	부사	The office where she works is downtown.
when	시간	부사	The year when I joined the firm was 2015.
why	이유	부사	The reason why we failed is unclear.

💡 패턴 암기법

who = 사람, which = 사물, where = 장소, when = 시간, why = 이유

시간(when/while) / 이유(because/since) / 조건(if/unless)
양보(although/even though) / 목적(so that)

👉 접속사 + 주어 + 동사 → 분사구문으로 축약 가능

예시:
